Review - Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

Today is Superbowl Sunday and although I am not much of a football girl I do always indulge in the festivities of it all (beer, junk food, spending time with my man, and of course the half time show). Funnily enough today is the day that I woke up with the urge to share my thoughts on Boscia's Luminizing Black Mask! It looks just like a beauty bloggers version of some war paint for the big game ;)

For anyone who is not familiar with Boscia they are a great preservative-free and natural skin care line that I often indulge in when I am at Sephora. I got a smaller version of this face mask as part of one of my Black Friday purchases this fall. The truth is I don't often find the time to do at home facials but I have always wanted to try a mask that you literally peel off of your face and this mask does just that!

It is a thick, black, shiny gel that you have to apply a good coat of, otherwise after the 30 minutes you won't be able to peel it off nicely and will have to resort to rubbing it off which is not nearly as fun.

After just applying:

30 minutes later, the peeling begins:

Get ready to be amazed! And also for your eyes to tear up... this mask does such a good job of peeling off dead skin that it also pulls at some of those little baby hairs on your face. It is a tolerable pain though and I think it is a good thing because after I peeled it all off, and washed my face, my skin felt so smooth.

I then followed that with a good slathering of moisturizer and am feel very refreshed at the moment! Xo

  1. This looks really similar to the Rodial Snake Mask I picked up this weekend, it's also a black mask like this
My pores need a good cleansing stat so I am excited to give it a try. This one looks like it does a pretty good job as well

  5. I've never been a fan of peeling masks since most of them are too rough for my poor skin x
